About Rope Cut
Rope Cut is an original cut-the-rope-style physics puzzler built entirely from scratch with a custom verlet-rope solver, hand-drawn Canvas art, and synthesized WebAudio sound. No external libraries or assets are loaded. Each of its 10 levels hangs a wrapped candy from one or more swaying ropes; you decide which rope to cut and exactly when, so the candy swings, falls, bounces off rubber bumpers, and curves around wooden pegs into a waiting mouth. Stars scattered through each level reward clever, deliberate cuts. Your furthest level and best star rating are saved locally so you can always pick up where you left off.
How to play Rope Cut
A candy hangs from one or more ropes at the top of the stage, and a grinning mouth sits somewhere below or off to the side. Drag a line across any rope to slice it. Once cut, the candy obeys gravity and momentum, swinging from whatever ropes remain and reacting to pegs and bumpers in the level. Time your cuts so the candy lands in the mouth. Touch a star while falling to collect it. Clear the mouth to finish the level and unlock the next; gather every star and time your cuts perfectly to earn all three stars.

Mouse or touch: press and drag (swipe) across a rope to cut it. The faster swipe trail shows where you sliced. Keyboard: press number keys 1-5 to cut the matching rope by its order, R to restart the level, N to advance after a win, and M to mute. A visible mute button sits in the top-right. Any key or tap dismisses the title demo and starts a real game.
Tips & tricks
- Cut later, not sooner. Letting the candy build up swing on a single rope before the final cut is often the only way to reach a side mouth.
- When two ropes hold the candy, the order you cut them changes the launch angle. Try cutting one, let it swing, then cut the second at the peak.
- Bumpers are bouncy and pegs are solid. Use a bumper to redirect a falling candy upward toward a high star, and let pegs gently steer the arc.
- Stars are optional for finishing but boost your rating. Plan a single cut path that threads through them rather than chasing each one separately.
- Stuck? Press R to restart instantly and experiment with timing. Reading the rope sway before you cut beats reacting after.
